Welcome to our journey.

Finding out that we’re having identical twins was exciting. However, we’re learning firsthand about the complications that can arise specific to our type of twins, such as Twin-to-Twin Transfusion Syndrome (TTTS), Twin Anemia Polycythemia Sequence (TAPS), and Selective Intrauterine Growth Restriction (sIUGR). We feel tremendous gratitude to everyone at the Twin To Twin Transfusion Syndrome Foundation. Founded by Mary, who turned her tragedy into helping countless expectant mothers fight these complications that 15 years ago resulted in 95% fetal mortality rate. Mary called me personally, to help me groc the diagnosis, point me to resources, and encourage me. 04/24/2021: 32 weeks GA

Today is our 32 week gestational age target. It’s bittersweet to arrive on this day without Joshua; he, Daniel, and I spent every moment together for so long. I miss him with every breath I take. Our fetal surgeon said Joshua should be alive. He was mature enough, big enough/weighed enough, his heart defects weren’t…
